The Hanging Gardens of Babylon The Hanging Gardens of Babylon was a present from King Nebuchadnezzar to his wife. He built it for her because she was homesick of her home in the mountains, so he built her a masterpiece. He built gardens on different levels of the palace, each one had plants overhanging the level below it. The garden reminded the queen of her home because of the lush and green plant-life. Watering was an issue, so they developed a pump system. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon are one of the classic seven wonders of the world.
